Terms of Service

1. Provider and acceptance

DiffAtlas is provided by the operator identified in the legal notice. Contact: [email protected].

By selecting the acceptance checkbox presented after sign-in, you expressly agree to these Terms and acknowledge the privacy policy. If you use DiffAtlas for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.

2. The service, trial, and pricing

DiffAtlas is a browser-based tool that retrieves pull-request information you authorize from GitHub and generates visual code-review context and dependency graphs. The application is currently a pre-release service and its features may evolve before general availability.

Each eligible account may access DiffAtlas through a 14-day free trial beginning on activation. Both trial access and the paid plan include up to 10 new pull-request analyses per rolling 24-hour period; reopening a previously processed pull request does not use this allowance. We are building the infrastructure to handle more pull requests. If you need a higher quota, contact us at [email protected]. Trial access and pull-request analysis are subject to the usage quotas communicated on the website or in the product. We may adjust, throttle, or enforce those quotas to protect service capacity, security, and fair access.

Pull-request analysis is subject to technical repository limits. A repository archive must not exceed 200 MB or 10,000 archive entries. Within the archive, DiffAtlas accepts up to 5,000 eligible source files, up to 50 MB of source code in total, and individual source files up to 1 MB. An analysis may fail when a repository exceeds one of these limits. We may update these technical limits as the service evolves and will communicate the current limits on the website or in the product.

When trial access ends, access stops unless you expressly choose to subscribe. DiffAtlas has one universal subscription price: $5 USD or €5 EUR per month, depending on the billing currency offered at checkout. Taxes are included where required. Trial access does not convert automatically into a paid subscription, and no payment will be taken without your explicit agreement.

Payments are non-refundable, except where applicable law requires otherwise. You may choose not to subscribe after trial access, and no payment will be taken unless you expressly agree to subscribe.

The subscription price may change in the future. We will give you reasonable advance notice of the proposed price and its effective date. A new price will apply only after you expressly accept it; silence or continued use alone will not count as acceptance of a price increase. If you do not accept the new price, your subscription will end at the close of the current paid billing period, and the previously agreed price will continue to apply until then.

Trial access is temporary and may be suspended or revoked at any time for capacity, security, abuse-prevention, legal, or product-development reasons. Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice. Revocation of free trial access does not create a right to compensation. Any suspension or termination after a paid subscription begins remains subject to applicable law and these Terms.

3. Accounts and GitHub authorization

You must provide accurate account information, protect access to your GitHub account, and promptly report suspected unauthorized use. You may revoke DiffAtlas access through GitHub or request deletion of your DiffAtlas account by emailing [email protected].

DiffAtlas uses a GitHub App with read-only account access to your email address and read-only repository access to pull requests and contents for repositories on which the app is installed. It does not request repository write, organization administration, workflow, or gist permissions. For each pull-request link you submit, DiffAtlas uses the associated GitHub token to request pull-request metadata, changed files, and a temporary source archive. Private repositories require both your own access and installation of the app for that repository. Those requests are subject to GitHub’s access controls and API rate limits, as well as DiffAtlas’s usage quotas.

You remain responsible for complying with GitHub’s terms and for having permission to access and analyze each repository and pull request you submit.

DiffAtlas is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise associated with GitHub, Inc. GitHub does not develop, review, approve, or provide support for DiffAtlas.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use DiffAtlas to:

• break the law or infringe another person’s rights;
• access repositories, accounts, or data without authorization;
• introduce malware, probe vulnerabilities without permission, disrupt the service, or bypass technical limits;
• resell, reverse engineer, or copy the service except where applicable law expressly permits it;
• use automated requests in a way that unreasonably burdens the service.

5. Your content and confidentiality

You keep all rights in repository content and other data you submit. You grant DiffAtlas only the limited right to retrieve, copy, parse, cache, and display that content as necessary to provide, secure, and maintain the service.

DiffAtlas does not install or execute repository code. Access to private repository data is limited to providing and securing the service, subject to the privacy policy.

For each analysis, DiffAtlas stores the repository and pull-request metadata, changed-file metadata, any text patches GitHub provides, the generated dependency graph, analysis status, and timestamps. These records are scheduled for deletion 30 days after creation, with deletion running daily. Full repository source is downloaded only into a temporary working directory to generate the graph and is deleted when the analysis job ends. You may request earlier deletion as described in the privacy policy.

6. DiffAtlas intellectual property

DiffAtlas and its licensors retain all rights in the service, including its software, interface, branding, and documentation. These Terms give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable right to use the service for its intended purpose.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep DiffAtlas available and reliable, but a pre-release service may contain errors or experience interruptions. We may maintain, modify, or discontinue features. When reasonably possible, we will give advance notice of a material change that adversely affects users.

DiffAtlas provides automated review assistance for informational purposes. Its analysis may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or contain false positives or false negatives. It does not guarantee that code is correct, secure, complete, fit for a particular purpose, or free from vulnerabilities.

DiffAtlas does not replace human code review, security testing, professional advice, or your own development and deployment controls. You remain responsible for reviewing and testing changes, maintaining appropriate backups and safeguards, and deciding whether to rely on, merge, release, or deploy any code.

8. Suspension and termination

You may stop using DiffAtlas at any time and request account deletion. We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, comply with law, or address a material breach of these Terms. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and provide an opportunity to resolve the issue.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, you use DiffAtlas’s automated analysis at your own discretion. DiffAtlas does not assume responsibility for decisions made solely in reliance on its output or for code changes merged or deployed without appropriate independent review and testing.

To the extent permitted by law, DiffAtlas is not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses, loss of opportunity, or losses caused by GitHub, network providers, unauthorized use, or events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud, gross negligence, personal injury, or mandatory consumer rights.

10. Privacy

The privacy policy explains which personal data is processed, why it is processed, how long it is retained, and how to exercise your rights.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the service or law. Material changes will be communicated before they take effect where reasonably possible. When these Terms change, we will ask you to expressly accept the updated version before using pull-request analysis again. Price increases require the separate express acceptance described in section 2.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by French law. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact [email protected] so we can try to resolve the dispute amicably. Mandatory consumer protections and jurisdiction rules remain unaffected.
